I came across this today and had almost forgotten how amazing it is. It’s from the late 2007 Northpoint series It’s Personal. Meghan Coffee is a dear friend who has posted here before. She’s also a newlywed. Meghan is an amazing singer/songwriter. Please check out her site. The video below gives you some insight into who she is, what she’s been through, and from Whom she draws her strength. The video is brilliantly put together; Meg’s gift with words and her beautiful heart take this piece from brilliant to powerful.
I remember this series because I bawled like a baby during her video and when she closed the service with a song. What a heartbreaking story but beautiful “beginning”! We love listening to her CD.
This was an amazing experience for me as well. It brought up so much in me, grief I hadn’t dealt with, longing for my mother (always there but has become less sharp over time, fading into an ever present dull ache…), and the honour of being able to share just how much my mother loved Jesus.
It was humbling to be able to share something that was so achingly painful and yet so important in my life, with so many. The Lord made beauty from ashes, as he always does.
