Rudy grew up listening to R&B music and to Dave Matthews Band, but also dabbled in virtually every musical style imaginable. His teen and college years found him playing drums and sax for a variety of bands, which shared the stage with artists like Ben Folds and Matt Wertz. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a jazz saxophone performance degree.
Rudy then headed to Atlanta, where he started a recording studio and teaching school called Melody Lane Studios, located literally on Melody Lane. He quickly found the stage at 12Stone Church to be a home base for his songwriting, worship leading, and performing. 
Rudy’s energy and lighthearted approach to life make for a great “hang.” But he has his sights set much higher; says Rudy, “I plan on spending the rest of my life making music that adds value to the lives of others!”
Rudy is gearing up for his first full-length studio project this fall, with producer Dan Hannon (Aaron Shust, Manchester Orchestra, Kristy Starling). Rudy’s fun fact about himself: “I was sitting in the front row of the Jay Leno show the day Arnold Swartzenegger was voted Governor of California; he shook my hand.”
